What MarketScout processes
MarketScout processes content already displayed in Facebook Marketplace in your browser, including listing titles, prices, locations, listing URLs, images, year or mileage information when visible, and whether a listing appears new. It also processes the current Marketplace search query when required for search features.
Local storage
MarketScout stores extension preferences, saved searches, hidden listing IDs, listing-history information and price-history information in Chrome's local extension storage on your device.
What MarketScout does not do
MarketScout does not send Marketplace listing data, browsing data, saved searches or extension usage data to the developer or an external analytics service. It does not sell user data, serve personalized advertising, or share user data with advertisers.
Notifications
If you enable new-listing alerts, Chrome's local notification system is used to display them. Notification state and the associated Marketplace URL are handled by the extension in Chrome.
Data deletion
You can remove locally stored MarketScout data by removing the extension from Chrome. Individual hidden-listing and filter data can also be reset using controls inside MarketScout.
Third-party service
MarketScout operates on Facebook Marketplace, a service provided by Meta. Use of Facebook remains subject to Meta's own terms and privacy policies. MarketScout is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta or Facebook.
Changes
This policy may be updated when MarketScout functionality changes. Material changes to data practices will be disclosed as required.
